STEAM Workshop Series

Explore, discover, and create with a variety of hands-on science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) activities and challenges. Each day has a different theme, and you can drop in anytime to play. You can also pre-register for one of our free daily workshops. Workshops are for 5th grade and older.

Tuesday, April 3
Green Chemistry

Free Workshop 2-4 pm
Join chemists from Earth Friendly Products to make your own green cleaner samples to take home! Learn about green chemistry and how to choose the right ingredients to make safe and sustainable products.


Wednesday, April 4
Robotics & Coding

Free Workshop 2-4 pm
Build and program real working robots using LEGO Robotics! Bricks 4 Kidz instructors will lead participants through building an autonomous rover with specially-designed kits. Then use a computer to program it to follow your commands using motors and various sensors. No experience required, just a desire to experiment and have fun!


Thursday, April 5
Marine Art & Science

Free Workshop 2-4 pm
Art meets science in this interactive workshop. Pacific Shellfish Institute biologists will guide you through hands-on activities and demonstrations exploring the science of plankton, shellfish, and the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems. Then, do a fun art project with artist Carrie Ziegler from Earth Art!


Friday, April 6
Audio & Music Engineering

Free Workshop 2-4 pm
Join staff from HomeThrone Studio to explore the intersections between sound and music through electronics, collaboration, and the recording process. You’ll get to work as a team to create and record your very own musical creation!
